Chasing My Vision

As I sit back and reflect on all of my ideas in trying to become an entrepreneur I shake my head. I am sure those close to me was thinking, “She don’t finish anything, this won’t last long”. I understand. If I was looking into a window of my house I would assume the same thing. For real.

Truth is, I never stopped dreaming. However, working a full-time job and motherhood trumped my progress and commitment. After all that, who has the energy to also start a business? Not me. At least not then.

Psalms 37:4 says that “God will give you the desires of your heart”. I believe this to be true because all of a sudden I became extremely uncomfortable at my job. Finally I chose to resign from my 10 year employer (with nothing really lined up). That was a faith move y’all, for real. On the other hand, we know that faith without works is dead. I couldn’t get those “dead presidents” with dead faith. This real life.

I needed to put in the work. Be committed. Stay committed. My vision was my cheese, and I was the mouse. Real talk.

I have to only listen to God in this journey; after all He gave me this vision. There are people close to me that want me to win, but their words are words of defeat. Not triumph.

As far as I can see, I have the ingredients to make some successful cake: drive, hustle, vision, creativity and faith.

Let’s keep it real; I even got my husband rubbing his bald head y’all. Amazingly enough, I only see winning. I appreciate the sprinkled support, but if I could get that support icing on my cake…trust me, err body going to be eating. Really? Yup!

I know that as I progress, the more others will also see my vision. Sometimes, everyone isn’t meant to see what you see. And that is okay. To me, it makes the victory that much sweeter.

To all those visionaries out there, stick with your plan. Be a realist to survive, but be optimistic to grow. Be blinded by God’s vision for your life, and stand on God’s promise. Real talk!
